Anniina Autero (PhD) is currently leading the SURE project on urban and event security in the Five Star Center in the city of Tampere. She has studied and taught safety, security and public financial management for more than 15 years at Tampere University, Stanford University and University of Colorado at Denver. She has led the Tampere Region Safety and Security cluster and she was one of the initiators of the newly established European ENSURE Collaborative.
Minna Säpyskä-Aalto has vast experience from international projects and financing and she was planning and writing SURE project application.She works at the Baltic Institute of Finland and her main responsibility in SURE is the project administration and financial management. She has an active role in communication and connecting SURE to European-wide networks.
Sointu joined SURE as an marketing expert with additional experience in international business development and Go To Market Strategy. On top of all the WP3 communications tasks, she is managing the overall success of SURE participating in the first World Expo in the Middle East, Dubai Expo in February 2022.
Alisa Jashari is involved in Project Planning and Impact Assessment. Her educational background is in Economics, complemented by her work experience in Business Development and as a researcher. She is now obtaining a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from Tampere University. Alisa is passionate about measuring the social impact of projects and policies, with a focus on Social Return on Investment (SROI), an analysis being conducted within the SURE project.
Marcela Simão (PhD) has studied, researched, and taught management, security, mobility, and smart cities for more than 10 years. She has experience in integrating actors for the organization of an efficient command and control center. She worked on this process during the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Recife, a large state capital in Brazil. She has also worked with integrated mobility systems in Curitiba (Brazil) and Geneva (Switzerland). Her main responsibility in SURE is the integration of security and mobility into the situation room.
Petri Nykänen is the director of the safety and security programme and deputy to the managing director of Business Tampere. With 20 years of experience in the high tech industry, he is leading the scaling up of the EU/UIA Smart Urban Security and Event Resilience (SURE) project. He is also Director of the Safety and Security Cluster of Tampere Region.
Petri Koskinen is the Senior Business Advisor in the Security Development Program. Koskinen provides expertise on creating Law Enforcement Agency relations and bringing in end-user needs perspective for situational awareness systems and investments. Additionally, he’s been a subject matter expert of OSCE and Council of Europe security development programs, a team leader in the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for 15 years, a national representative in international police organizations’ (Interpol and Europol) and acted as police liaison officer in Finnish Embassy in Nigeria.
Ilari Karppi (PhD) is adjunct professor of Regional Studies at Tampere University, Finland. He teaches and does research on visionary urban governance and complex adaptive systems in sustainable urban and regional development. His other research interests include transit-oriented development, smart urbanism and strategic urban planning. Ilari is the TAU team leader in SURE.
Iina Sankala (M.Adm.Sc.) works as a researcher at Tampere University, specializing in sustainable urban and regional development. Her other areas of expertise include urban governance, smart mobility, sustainable urban (transit) planning. Iina works in TAU team. Apart from WP4 tasks, she contributes also to SURE project’s communication.
Petri Murtomäki from Tampere university of Applied Sciences works in SURE project as a project manager of tasks which are mainly related to data collection with drones as part of Work Package 5 and service design in Work Package P 4. Petri Murtomäki has a background of working multiple years developing safety & security in Tampere area and also internationally with european safety & security clusters.
Sari joined SURE at the beginning of the project in September 2019. She leads WP5 that is the technological part of the project. Insta provides the SURE project’s technical backbone and Sari works as a Senior Business Development Manager at Insta Group. She holds a D.Sc. degree in industrial engineering and management.
