At the heart of the report, written by Ilari Karppi and Iina Sankala, researchers at the Tampere University, is the scenario work that served the needs of the entire SURE project and was based on literature analysis of the relationship between cities, events and security. Tampere’s key event areas have been examined through the eyes of both the authorities and event participants.
The growing city of Tampere and its changing event areas create a need to train for new types of situations. The needs for the planning of different event areas are linked to ten general guidelines that structure safe event city planning.
The task of Tampere University of Applied Sciences in the SURE project is to collect user data in order to increase Tampere’s city and event safety. The result report describes the guidelines formed on the basis of user data and the safety service path. The security service path summarizes the factors that affect the sense of security of event visitors.
